LAKEWOOD, NY — On Sunday, January 29, 2017, Webb's Captain's Table participated alongside several area restaurants in SOUPer Bowl Sunday VI at the Lakewood Rod & Gun. Thanks to record-setting attendance, sponsors and organizers raised $8,000, in support of Robotic Surgery at UPMC Chautauqua WCA and The Rapaport Fund at WCA Foundation.
This family-friendly event featured a number of homemade soups created, and served by local restaurants and caterers. Attendees were invited to vote for their favorite homemade soup— for this year's event, our staff featured a spicy Buffalo Chicken Wing soup. Created as an homage to one of WNY's signature dishes, this homemade soup features pulled chicken, celery, carrots, bleu cheese and a mix of spices. Our original recipe is a popular winter feature at the restaurant just as it was during this great community event with over 400 cups served!
We were thrilled to participate in this tremendous opportunity to join forces with organizers from UPMC Chautauqua WCA, WCA Foundation, Media One Group, Maplevale Farms, the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and area restaurant owners to give back to our community.
All of the proceeds from this year’s SOUPer Bowl Sunday will benefit Robotic Surgery at UPMC Chautauqua WCA and The Rapaport Fund at WCA Foundation. This charitable event has raised over $34,000 in total.
