What do Heinz Field (Pittsburgh Steelers), Citi Field (New York Mets), Progressive Field (Cleveland Indians), Ralph Wilson Stadium (Buffalo Bills) and Webb’s Captain’s Table all have in common? Simple: beer.
A brand new, state-of-the-art draft tap system has been implemented by the Garrow Brothers Draft Service, based out of Greensburg, Pa. This family-run company has been in business for over 26 years, and has put in 6 to 7 draft systems a week for the past decade. “Restaurants, food chains, stadiums,” said Tony Garrow. “We’ve been doing this for a long time.”
The draft system was brainstormed by the Garrow Brothers and Benjamin C. Webb, owner of Webb’s Captain’s Table. “We drew it up on a napkin,” Garrow said. “Old school.”
The system itself is unique in that it is made from copper, which is “one of the hardest metals to weld” according to Garrow. Both bars - the one in the Lounge and the one on the Deck - have a T-shaped tower which holds 16 taps in total. The lines running from the kegs to the taps are kept at 30 degrees through a modernized cold management system, which helps keep the beer pouring smoothly.
“We can’t be more proud of the new tap system,” Webb said. “The Garrow Brothers did an excellent job and our guests are going to especially enjoy the ice-cold craft beers this summer.”
“It all came together,” Garrow said.
